A lot of people claim to think positive. They use phrases like “it’s all good” or “don’t judge”, etc. However, just thinking that everything is wonderful does not make it so. That’s not being positive, it’s being delusional! How can everything in the world be wonderful? Some things suck! Some people cannot be motivated do anything useful. Some people are evil. There is corruption, rape, murder, dysfunctional politics, pollution, etc. The real world is full of both good and bad things. No amount of positive labeling or dreaming will change this fact. If you are artificially positive about everything, how can you identify what needs to be fixed, it is already good!
Being positive is believing that you can improve things and then taking action. To do that, you must identify the stuff that needs improvement. Being positive requires honesty and seeing both the good and bad. It involves doing whatever is legal, ethical and reasonable to make things better; with no quitting or using lame excuses when it gets difficult. When you achieve your goal of improvements, you did something positive, you feel good and that is a real positive emotion! Which one are you, positive or delusional?
